Founding member, composer, and bassist for the band The Red Hot Chili Peppers, musician Michael Peter Balzary has more than made a name for himself under his alias “Flea.” According to the official biography, he got his nickname Flea (Mike B the Flea) on a ski trip because he was very high-energy and was always jumping around. Aside from his musical career, he has also made appearances in popular movies such as “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” “The Big Lebowski,” and even the Back to the Future films #II and #III. Also, many people don’t realize he started as a trumpet player and learned bass in high school from his friend, and future Chili Peppers guitarist, Hillel Slovak. |
