Joseph Francis Lamb was one of the original “Big Three” composers of classical ragtime. Lamb had published a few minor works while still in school before a chance meeting between Lamb and Joplin in the offices of Joplin’s publisher John Stark in 1908 led to a long fruitful series of wonderful ragtime compositions, including the beautiful Ragtime Nightingale, and Sensations.
