PERFORMANCE NOTES Ode to Christmas is written to educate your Beginning Band during the holiday season and have some fun at the same time. Creatively using fragments of Ode to Joy, Jingle Bells and Good King Wenceslas, each of the performers gets a chance to be a part of the melodic line. Pay particular attention to the articulation markings, as these are essential in balancing the group in order to highlight the melodic lines. Ending with a crack of the whip (slapstick), this piece is sure to entertain your students as well as your audience in any holiday concert.
