The work may be played in two versions: with or without Debussy's Prélude No. 6 preceding it, the work
upon which the "Pensées" are based. The Prélude, with the exception of the final chord, has been
orchestrated by the composer. There should be an appropriate break between the Debussy Prélude
and the "Pensées".
