The Huron Carol is Canada’s oldest Christmas song. The Hurons were a native American tribe of the Iroquoian family located in the Northeastern corner of the United States. The tune used in this carol is also known by its lyrics ‘Twas in the Moon of Wintertime, written in 1643 and based on a traditional French folk tune.
